Eliza가 입을 열었을 때,

두 사람 사이의 공기를 가를 만큼 무거웠다.

“Derek Hale…”

When Eliza spoke,
her voice was barely above a whisper.
But the weight of that name
was heavy enough to slice the silence between them.

루크는 내부 고발자 보호를 담당하는 수사관이었다.

Eliza was a young journalist,
and Luke was a federal investigator protecting whistleblowers.
Their first collaboration:
the Derek Hale scandal.

Derek, the celebrated founder of a youth foundation,
praised for ‘saving’ children—
was in reality the orchestrator
of child trafficking and sexual exploitation.

증거는 충분했다.
피해자는 셀 수 없었고,

모든 것이 무너졌다.

There was evidence.
Endless victims.
Internal documents, confessions, even video files—
but everything collapsed.

루크는 수사에서 배제됐고,

데릭은 풀려났고,
그 모든 피해자들은 다시 사라졌다.

Luke was pulled from the case,
Eliza was silenced,
Derek was released,
and the victims… vanished again.

“He’s resurfaced.”

엘리자의 손이 떨렸다.

Eliza’s hands trembled.
Derek now reigned as “President of the Foundation,”
controlling dozens of institutions across the U.S.

그리고 그 속에서 또다시
아이들이 사라지고 있었다.

And once again,
children were disappearing within them.

루크의 목소리는 냉기처럼 식어 있었다.

Luke’s voice was cold as ice.

“이번엔…
아무도 그를 막지 못해.”

“This time…
no one will stop me.”

“넌 그를 죽이려는 거야.”

“You’re going to kill him.”

“아니.”
그는 고개를 저었다.

“No.”
He shook his head.

“…그를 지우는 거야.
세상에서, 기억에서, 역사에서.”

“…I’m going to erase him.
From this world, from memory, from history.”

엘리자는 두 눈을 감았다.
그리고 입을 열었다.

Eliza closed her eyes.
Then she spoke.

“그럼…
이번엔 나도 같이 가.”

“Then…
this time, I’m going with you.”
