마커스 블레인은 범죄현장을 둘러보고 있었다.
현장엔 루크의 흔적이 없었다.
그러나 시신은 심판의 방식으로 처형되어 있었다.

Marcus Blaine surveyed the crime scene.
There were no traces of Luke.
Yet the corpse bore the signature of judgment.

“뭔가 이상해.”
그는 중얼였다.
“패턴이 바뀌었다.”

“Something’s off,”
he murmured.
“The pattern’s changed.”

시신은 단순히 죽은 게 아니었다.
공포로 일그러진 얼굴,
심장이 없는 가슴,
그리고—벽에 남겨진 피의 문장.

The body hadn’t simply died.
Its face twisted in terror,
chest hollow without a heart,
and on the wall—
a phrase written in blood.

“그는 보지 않았다.”
“He didn’t watch.”

마커스는 수첩에 적었다.

Marcus jotted down a note.

“그가 보지 않았다…?”
“루크가… 이걸 직접 안 봤단 말인가?”

“He didn’t watch…?”
“Luke… didn’t witness this himself?”

그 순간,
마커스의 머릿속에 섬광처럼 스쳐가는 생각.

Then, a thought flashed through Marcus’s mind.

“만약…
그림자가 따로 존재한다면?”

“What if…
the shadow exists separately?”

그는 루크의 정신질환으로만 설명하려 했던 자신을 자책했다.
이건 다중인격도, 환각도 아니었다.

He cursed himself for thinking it was mere psychosis.
This wasn’t dissociation or hallucination.

“그림자는…
그를 사용하는 무언가일지도 몰라.”

“The shadow…
might be using him.”

그 순간,
마커스의 등 뒤에서
차가운 기운이 스쳤다.
그는 천천히 돌아보았다.

At that moment,
a chill swept behind Marcus.
He turned slowly.

빈 복도,
그러나 벽에는
길게 드리워진 그림자 하나.

An empty hallway—
but across the wall,
one long shadow stretched.

그림자는 소리 없이 움직였다.
그리고 그의 귀에 속삭였다.

The shadow moved silently.
And it whispered in his ear:

“넌 너무 많이 알아.”

“You know too much.”
