the shadow whispered, low and sharp.
“He paid us.”
루크는 창문을 바라보았다.
창밖에는 잭이 알려준 주소—
범죄자 도미닉 블레어가 거주하는 주택가의 골목이 어두웠다.
Luke stared out the window.
Beyond the glass lay the address Jack had given:
a shadowed alley behind the home
of Dominic Blair—a murderer.

“If he’s truly guilty,”
Luke said,
“then judgment will find him.”
“그게 중요한 게 아니야.”
그림자는 속삭였다.

the shadow replied.
“We no longer choose.
We execute requests.”

Those words landed heavily in Luke’s chest.
He had wanted revenge—
not to become someone’s instrument.

laughter leaked from Dominic Blair’s house.
Drunk,
he muttered the dead girl’s name—like a joke.
