“당신은… 더 이상 예전의 루크가 아니에요.”

“You’re… not the Luke I used to know.”

나오미는 그렇게 말했다.
그녀의 손엔 권총이 들려 있었다.
총구는 떨리고 있었고,
그 떨림은 그녀의 심장과 직결되어 있었다.

Naomi said those words.
A pistol trembled in her hand.
And the tremor was connected directly—
to her heart.

루크는 아무 말도 하지 않았다.
그는 단지 그녀를 바라보며 숨을 쉬고 있었다.
숨결은 인간의 것이었지만,
눈빛은… 아니었다.

Luke said nothing.
He simply breathed, watching her.
His breath was human—
but his eyes were not.

“당신은 그림자를 이겨냈었어요.”
“내가 본 루크는… 절대 악에게 지지 않았어요.”

“You fought the shadow before.”
“The Luke I saw… never gave in to evil.”

루크는 한 발자국 다가왔다.
나오미는 방아쇠에 손을 얹었다.

Luke took a step closer.
Naomi placed her finger on the trigger.

“가까이 오지 마.”
“Don’t come closer.”

“날 쏘면…
그게 나일까?
아니면 그 안에 숨어 있는… 다른 놈일까?”

“If you shoot me…
will it be me you kill?
Or the thing hiding inside?”

그의 말에,
나오미는 눈을 감았다.
기억이 밀려왔다.
처음 만났을 때,
지하 감옥에서 불빛 하나 없이 쓰러졌던 루크의 모습.

At those words,
Naomi closed her eyes.
Memories flooded her.
When she first met him—
collapsed in a prison with no light.

“그땐 당신을 끌어냈어요.
이젠 내가 다시 할 수 있어요.”

“I pulled you out then.
I can do it again.”

루크는 웃지 않았다.
대신, 그의 그림자가 말을 걸었다.
그림자의 목소리가 그의 입을 빌려 나왔다.

Luke didn’t smile.
Instead, his shadow spoke—
through his own mouth.

“이 여자는 널 약하게 만들어.”
“She makes you weak.”

“쏴, 나오미.”
“Shoot, Naomi.”

그녀는 숨을 들이쉬고
총구를 내렸다.
그녀의 심장은 무너지지 않았다.
그녀는 믿었다.

She took a breath—
and lowered the gun.
Her heart hadn’t broken.
She believed.

“당신은 아직 인간이에요.”
“그 안의 괴물보다,
당신이 더 커요.”

“You’re still human.”
“Bigger than the monster inside.”

그 순간, 루크의 눈에서
처음으로 물기가 맺혔다.

And in that moment,
Luke’s eyes welled with tears
—for the first time.
